Rest Periods for Growth

After each set of exercise you should take a rest. Either take a brief walk around your exercise area or simply stand and have a drink of water. Sting down is also ok, but not particularly recommended. In the early stages of training, rest for two minutes between sets of exercises. As you gain strength and stamina, try to reduce your rest period. Aim ultimately to rest only one minute between sets. As a general guide, you should rest long enough for your breathing rate to return back to normal. Also when you sleep at the end of your day, the longer and better sleep you get will help you repair, heal and grow your muscle the best you can.
