5 Basic Gym Etiquette

    There are many different things you should do and should not do when in the gym with other people. There has always been a certain way to be when you are in a gym working out that is more proper to be respectful in a way of other people around you. The more basic and simple things I have seen and heard of from many different bodybuilders when in the gym come from them mostly being aggravated when other people do things that mess up their way of working out because they don’t care or realize that there should be respect when in the gym even if you don’t know a person.  Here are some basic things you should do and not do while you’re in the gym working out. 1. Pay attention around you and try not to stand in front of a mirror when someone else is doing an exercise and they are using the mirror to see their form. Just wait a little bit while they finish their reps so then you can go and do your reps next.  2. Whenever you take dumbbells of the rack to use, after you’re done just put them back to where they should go so other people have the same chance in trying to do their exercises. Don’t just drop them on the floor and leave them lying around. 3. Whenever you use certain plates for weights on a bar make sure when you’re done to just simply put them back to where they belong, don’t leave them lying on the floor either. 4. If you’re drinking any liquid out of a bottle and when you’re done either put it in your gym bag or find the garbage can and throw it out. Don’t just leave it on any machine you were working out on. 5. If you like to listen to certain music while you work out then that’s great, music does help a lot of us while we exercise. But just remember we all don’t like the same stuff. Make sure you have your headphones on while you listen and not some speaker that everyone else around you can hear. If you hear music that you’re not into then your aggravation can ruin your exercise. Just remember most of the time you’re not the only one in the gym. Most of the people that are in the gym want to try to do their best to be in better shape and be healthier. At least that’s one thing we all have in common.
